6th International Breastfeeding and Lactation Symposium

Medela has great pleasure in presenting to you the 6th International Breastfeeding and Lactation Symposium - Science and Human Milk.

Over the last six years this symposium series has built a reputation as being a key event for lactation specialists. With its philosophy of bringing to its audience the latest high level research, it serves as one of the most important platforms bridging research and practice for breastfeeding health professionals, midwives and doctors.

As a delegate you can expect a thought provoking and inspiring programme that brings to you the most up-to-date lactation research knowledge courtesy of our internationally renowned, invited speakers. This year's list of visiting dignitaries includes Professor Peter Hartmann, Professor Paula Meier, Dr Donna Geddes and Dr. Willemijn Corpeleijn.  In addition, two young investigators from the Human Lactation Research Group at The University of Western Australia, Sharon Parrella and Lukas Christen, will ably accompany these speakers.  The issues to be discussed range from the use of human milk in the NICU to ultrasound technology in breastfeeding and other topics in between!

In addition to our regular Symposium agenda we will also offer two half-day workshops. These interactive workshops, introduced at our previous meeting in Venice 2010, were so well received that we have decided to run them again.  They are a truly unique event and provide a fantastic view into the world of the researcher that is not often available at a regular conference.

Lastly, an often overlooked feature of the Medela Symposium is the collegiate atmosphere that it generates. This provides you, as delegates, not only the opportunity to listen to the inspiring lectures but also to meet personally with the speakers and exchange views and information.

It is a great pleasure for Medela to be able to offer you this special continuous education opportunity and an even greater pleasure to do so from such a vibrant city as Amsterdam. We are confident that this symposium will stimulate all the senses!

We look forward to welcoming you in Amsterdam for the 6th International Breastfeeding and Lactation Symposium.
